PART-TIME out of hours library assistant

We are looking for a part-time out of hours (evenings and Saturday mornings) library assistant to work up to 12.75 hours a week on four days, Wednesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday during term time. The hours will normally be from 17.00-20.30 Wednesday Thursday, 17.00-19.45 Fridays and 09.30-13.30 on Saturdays, weeks 1-8 and until 18.45 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday in weeks 0 and 9.
You will be responsible for providing out of hours and weekend library support to students, tutors and other members of staff without direct supervision from the Librarian. You will be the first point of contact by tutors if they need assistance with IT or audio-visual equipment in the classrooms, help students and staff with the lending facilities and process all new library items, update the library web 2.0 pages and any other tasks asked by the Librarian. Together with the clerical assistant you will also be responsible for the safe lock-up of the building at the end of the day.
An understanding of the use of computers and audio-visual equipment in classrooms is highly desirable, but training will be given to the suitable candidate. The post can be split between two people.
