How we teach

We believe language learning is most effective when it is active, purposeful and connected to real communication.

Our courses combine expert teaching with guided independent learning, helping you build confidence and use your language with confidence.

Our approach is learner-centred and focuses on developing:

  • Confidence in real-world communication
  • Linguistic proficiency
  • Independent learning
  • Intercultural competence

We follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), with clear progression and outcomes. Our action-oriented teaching sees learners as active participants who use language to complete meaningful tasks, solve problems and collaborate with others.

We provide inclusive and flexible learning through independent class preparation (online learning pathways) and authentic language use in class. We encourage learners to reflect on their progress and take increasing responsibility for their learning. Our courses follow a flipped mode of learning whereby learners come to class ready to apply learning that has already been scaffolded through a dedicated online learning pathway. This maximises learning opportunities, reduces learner anxiety and encourages faster progression.

Through our programmes, learners develop the language and intercultural awareness needed to communicate across cultures and participate confidently in international and multilingual contexts.
