Academic English: Term-Time Written Communication Courses
Information about Academic English term-time written communication courses
You can enrol on any of our courses individually without having taken a previous course at the Language Centre. However, you can follow a standard learning pathway over the academic year (see below). You will need to decide whether to start with our Introduction to Academic Writingand Language or Key Issues in Academic Writing according to your level, experience and confidence.
Start with this course if you have little or no experience of academic writing in English. This course is designed for international students with little to no experience in academic writing.
Level:
Learners should have reached a minimum English language proficiency of B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (IELTS 6.5+).
Start with this course if you already have some experience with academic writing. This course is designed for students who are looking to improve their writing for their degree course.
Level:
Learners should have reached a minimum English language proficiency of C1 on the Common European Framework of Reference (IELTS 7.0+).
